Bubbles
Hi, I haven't been blogging ever since I have my own first job.
So, now I'm going to write a very very very long blog. (ok, I promise to decorate it with pictures later)
1. First Day
"Welcome on board!" This is the only phrase I remember on my first day.
My table is at a left corner of a dimmed room, where the air-cond temperature can reached to 16 degree celsius any time. They called it the 'studio'. We the 'studio' people sat next to the server room. So our 'studio' air-cond never switch off. It is very cold, freezing, winter and what ever word that can describe cold. Most of the people in the 'studio' are designers, each has their own outstanding attitude, a little bit of craziness and all have the same responsibility towards their work.
2. Treasure hunt
The company celebrates its 5th year aniversary. It started with the treasure hunt. Each team with the given clue, will drive around the nearby area searching for answers to the given question. The answers are on the "papan tanda" of the shop. After circling around what looks like the entire PJ, with a jumble of excitement, curiosity and frustration, we finally compeleted the game. I quickly rush back to my table to rest. Motion sickness - uncurable. Thank god I have some "minyak kapak" to apply on. I feel much better. I see some people have the same problem too. :D (yeah my gang)
Then we have our dinner at the irish pub. To me, pub means liquor only. Where on earth do their have food for dinner? So please please forgive this kampung gal, still stucked at her own tiny universe. Of course, they have food enough to feed everyone. Then come the wacky awards to company loyal workers. Anything from pregnancy awards to best beer belly awards. Next is the lucky draw. Everyone is envy on those people who got iPod and super envy for one fella who got a 27 inch tv. I got extra 100 ringgit to spend on that weeked. Hehehehe...
I left the party before someone come to offer any alcohol drinks.
3. Hong Kong
"Kowloon, Kowloon Hong Kong, we love Hong Kong..." someone hummed this song.
All the sudden, I found myself having two days leave and landed at Hong Kong.
Yup, I back to China again. This time is the 'southern' part of China compared to Beijing. Once out of the airport (which look very much like KLIA), we start wondering. Is this jerebu (haze)? Fog? Mist? Had we just escape from malaysia's jerebu and just to caught in Hong Kong jerebu?!
Later, we found out that Hong Kong is so condensed, so pack till the dust particle never got the chance to settle down. The next thing we found at Hong Kong, space is very limited. We just couldn't accept that. The hotel room is so small. You hear almost anything : people talking next room, children running at the corridor and etc. And the worst part of all the shower head is lower than my head (opps, sorry bad grammar, which means I've to bend down to bath, because the shower is too low).
Well, put the hotel aside. Hong Kong is a interesting place to visit. You don't find many private vehicle at Hong Kong. The public transport system is near perfect. There are road maps at every junctions. (That's how I find my way around Hong Kong on my own. Why do I walk alone? I'm escaping from shopping frenzy) I'm dreaming one day Malaysia could have such a good system, I wouldn't need a car anymore. Complex underground subway, underground predestrian bridge, zebra crossing on every traffic light junction. Oh yeah, the zebra crossing is fabulous. Not a single vehicle touch the zebra crossing line. (Unlike some crazy drivers here, literally cross over the line) They have a beeping sound to signal for the blind when it is safe to cross. What I like the most is to take a ride on the star ferry at night.
Disneyland, it is once a fantasy and now a reality. I fell like a kid again. Just imagine, a kid in disney with no parent control. Ya, I run around like an idiot. No planning, just being spontaneous. After I got a cap, I run up to the first thing that attracts me - the train. Why? Because someone announce the train is going to move, he ask everyone to hurry up and come on board. So I hop in and get a sit. And end up at fantasyland which most of the rides are for kids below 12. But that didn't stop me. I make full use of the phone camera, snap snap snap, shoot shoot shoot. Then I found myself at the 3D theater.
To be continued...
